Az. Agr. Macea in the Lucchese Hills, Tuscany
Dropped by Cipriano and Antonio's little property to taste the new wines. The quality of the 2007's are unbelievable.
The woman in the first photo is Antonella, Cipriano's and Antonio's Mom. She was raised in Glasgow, Scotland and lived there for 25 years before moving back to Italy. She speaks English with the most beguiling (and thick) Scottish accent. Just delightful.
Cipriano is making a name for himself at Cosimo Maria Mazzini winery, San Gimingnano, as the enologist. Lots of press coming on those wines, but his little wines from his small family estate are his true love.
Such lovely and true people. I enjoy them immensely.
